Our History

By the early 1980s, Evergreen Olympic Realty was already the leader in real estate sales in the South Sound. What we saw then was an area that was growing in national importance. An unprecedented number of people were moving to the Northwest.

In this new landscape we determined that a strategic alliance with the nation’s top real estate brand would benefit our clients. In 1982 the company became Washington State’s third Coldwell Banker franchise. After an exhaustive review of national real estate franchises, we selected Coldwell Banker for two simple reasons.

First, the company’s values matched our own high standards. Since 1906, Coldwell Banker’s philosophy has been “The client’s best interest must be the guiding force behind all services.”

The “Client 1st” perspective grew from the events following the 1906 San Francisco earthquake and fire, when an appalled Colbert Coldwell saw some of his real estate contemporaries take advantage of the tragedy by acquiring property from vulnerable sellers at unfair prices.

Coldwell dedicated himself to providing an honest and knowledgeable alternative, and his mission was furthered in 1914 when Benjamin Banker became a partner. Together they built an organization based on the “Client 1st” philosophy. It is that value that attracted us to the franchise.
