Providence St. Peter Foundation’s annual Christmas Forest, which runs the first week of December, is certainly an event filled with holiday cheer. The Red Lion hotel is filled with amazing Christmas trees, wreathes and other holiday décor. What the event does for the community, however, lasts throughout the whole year. Proceeds from the event go to a host of charity health care needs in our community.
This year, one of major objectives of the Forest is to fund the Cancer Survivorship Clinic at St. Peter’s Hospital. This is a program that provides many needed services to cancer patients besides just the great clinical care they receive. In a recent news release the Foundation wrote about the mission of the clinic. It is “designed to promote physical, psychological, spiritual, and social well-being for those diagnosed and living with cancer.” We know from experience how important those aspects of care are.
We are proud to be a 26-year sponsor of this event. Work from non-profits like the Providence St. Peter Foundation is one of the many reasons this is a great place to call home.
